Nicole Kidman Posts Unexpected Tribute To Ex Keith Urban On Father’s Day
on Jun 23, 2026

Just one day after country singer Keith Urban honored his ex-wife, actress Nicole Kidman, on her birthday, she responded with a tribute to him.
Kidman celebrated her 59th birthday on Saturday (June 20th). Fans were caught off guard that day when Urban shared a birthday message for his ex on his Instagram Story, writing, “happy birthday nicole mary!!!!!!!!!!!!” in lowercase letters.

It was equally unexpected when Kidman posted a tribute to Urban the following day (June 21st), which was Father’s Day.
Kidman shared a two-photo collage on her Instagram Story. The top photo showed a young girl hugging a man while both smiled for the camera. It seems safe to assume this picture shows a young Kidman with her own father, the late Dr. Antony Kidman.
The second picture in the black-and-white collage shows Urban with his and Kidman’s two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, when they were young.
Kidman shared a brief message over the collage, writing, “Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers.” See that tribute below.

Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman Finalized Their Divorce In January
News broke in September 2025 that Nicole Kidman had filed for divorce from Keith Urban after 19 years of marriage. Court records viewed by PEOPLE indicated that the former couple agreed to a parenting plan that named Kidman as the primary residential parent for their two daughters.
The plan outlined the parenting schedule, stating that the girls will be with Kidman for 306 days of the year, while Urban will have them for the remaining 59 days.
Urban and Kidman’s divorce was finalized in January of this year (2026). Additional court documents viewed by PEOPLE show that both are required to “behave with each other and each child so as to provide a loving, stable, consistent and nurturing relationship with the child even though they are divorced.“
Furthermore, the divorce agreement states:
“They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent. They will encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families.“
Urban and Kidman both waived all spousal and child support rights.
Neither has said much publicly about their divorce. Kidman briefly touched on the subject during an interview with Variety in March, saying:
“What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that. Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.“
It’s clear that no matter what happened between them, Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman remain devoted to raising their daughters in a loving environment.
