Step Back in Time and Watch The Powerhouse Group of Singers Perform Together at the CMA Awards

Over 30 years ago, Randy Travis, co-host of the show, reunited Tammy Wynette and George Jones, along with cowboy legend Roy Rogers and Vern Gosdin to perform selections from his new album “Heroes and Friends.” You can hear the audience cheer as each musical guest joins Travis on stage, with particular excitement for George Jones, who was a surprise guest that evening.

The song “Heroes & Friends” was co-written by Randy Travis and Don Schlitz and released as the second and final single from Travis’ album of duets, Heroes & Friends – interestingly, it was his only song on the album that was not a duet. 

The 57th Annual CMA Awards Are Coming Next Month

The 57th CMA Awards will be held at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023. The annual event hosts the biggest and brightest stars in country music with a series of performances and numerous awards to be presented.

Each year, nominees and winners of the CMA Awards are determined by more than 6,000 members of the Country Music Association, all of whom are industry professionals. The first CMA Awards Show was held in 1967, and the following year, the CMA Awards was broadcast on NBC Television for the first time – making it the longest-running, annual music awards program on network television (via CMAAwards.com).
