New Details Have Come To Light Explaining Why Dolly Parton Had To Hold Onto Stage During Her Thanksgiving Halftime Show

Dolly Parton recently put on the show of a lifetime at the Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders game on Thanksgiving day. The 77-year-old left fans speechless when she took the stage dressed like a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. Parton had the AT&T Stadium in awe as she sang some of her most well-known songs, “Jolene” and “9 to 5,” but some of her fans became concerned when they noticed she had to hold on to the stage during certain points in the performance.

Jane Slater, a reporter for the NFL, just revealed the reason Dolly Parton had to hold on to the stage for support during her performance. She shared that Dolly was supposed to have a stand for support but ended up not receiving one.

“For those knocking my girl for just holding on here, she was supposed to come out of the Star and have a stand supporting her. It didn’t work,” the reporter shared on her Instagram story.

Dolly’s unsteady performance can be attributed to a stage malfunction

A giant star-shaped stage can be seen behind Dolly during her halftime performance. The stage has a hole in the middle giving the impression Dolly was supposed to emerge from the star and perform on top of it. Instead of singing on top of the star, Dolly had to sing beside it due to a stage malfunction. This left her without a stand for support, but she made the most of it and delivered one of her most popular performances to date.

The Cowboys declined to comment on the issue saying there are multiple different parties who work together to produce the halftime show, but the NFL isn’t Involved.
