Did Reba McEntire Call Taylor Swift An “Entitled Little Brat?”

Country music legend Reba McEntire is setting the record straight concerning how she feels about Taylor Swift.

Reba McEntire had to deny a false report that she called Taylor Swift an "Entitled little brat." Here, they're seen together at an ACM Awards ceremony in the past

Recently, a (false) report surfaced on the Facebook page named America Loves Liberty. The post read:

Reba McIntire [sic] talks about how disappointed she was to look up at the big screen while performing The National Anthem, only to see Taylor Swift laughing and drinking and making a mockery of the event.”

The post also claims Reba said, “I let her have it afterward. She’s an entitled little brat.

The National Anthem performance the post referenced occurred during the Super Bowl this year. McEntire performed the Anthem, while Swift was in attendance to watch her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Reba Responds To The Allegation

After seeing the rumor spread online, McEntire took to social media to debunk it. She shared a screenshot of the post on her official Instagram page, dismissing it as entirely false.

“Please don’t believe everything you see on the Internet,” McEntire wrote in the caption. “I did not say this. Taylor is a wonderful artist, strong role model and has done so much good for so many people and the music industry.”

McEntire’s good friend and former Reba sitcom co-star, Melissa Peterman, commented on her post. She noted how the Facebook page spelled McEntire’s name incorrectly, making their false report even more egregious.

They spelled your name McIntire. So made up story AND a lazy proofreader!” Peterman wrote.

Reba McEntire Previously Shared Her Respect For Taylor Swift

This isn’t the first time McEntire has shown some love for Swift. She previously shared how much she respected Swift’s confidence early on in her career.

She remembered one occasion when Swift performed her song “Tim McGraw” in front of McGraw himself.

[She] walked down the steps looking right at Tim McGraw singing, and I’m like, ‘This girl’s gonna be a huge star,'” McEntire recalled. She added, “…I mean, I was impressed.”

Years ago, McEntire presented Swift with a Crystal Milestone award from the ACM. She recognized Swift for bringing new, younger fans into country music and teaching them to love the genre.

You can watch that sweet moment between Swift and McEntire in the video below.
