Brad Paisley & Miranda Lambert’s “Someone Else’s Arms” Feels Like A ’90s Country Throwback
on Jun 12, 2026

Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert’s new duet, “Someone Else’s Arms,” will take you right back to country music’s Golden Era.
The track was released on Friday, June 12, and serves as the latest song from Paisley’s ongoing project, Tacklebox.
The idea behind Tacklebox isn’t to create one traditional album and release it all at once. Instead, Paisley wants it to be an ongoing project that can continue for as long as he wants, with new songs being released along the way.
Tacklebox will be a collection of songs from different points in his career. Some tracks were written years ago and have never seen the light of day, and others are brand new.
It’s a different approach from the typical album format, giving Paisley the freedom to share music whenever he feels the time is right.
“I see this ‘project’ as never-ending. It’s almost like the fans have a direct link to my Dropbox or to a playlist that never ends,” shares Paisley in a statement. “We are calling it Tacklebox because it’s a box full of hooks, country lyric hooks. In this digital age, I have every song I’ve ever written at my fingertips.
He continued, “This project gave us a license to dig back into the catalog of songs that were never released, that feel like a time period, a style of writing, a sound, and nostalgia. We went back into the studio to record or re-record at The Castle in Franklin, TN, the same place where several of my first few albums were recorded. When I first started writing and recording music, I couldn’t have dreamed of the ability to put something out instantly for the fans.”
So far, Paisley has dropped a handful of songs, including “Fallin’,” “This Town Ain’t Small Enough,” “Without You,” “Hi Ho Silverado” (featuring David Lee Murphy), “Overnight Low,” and “Helen Back.”
Now, he’s adding to the ever-growing playlist with the help of fellow country star Miranda Lambert.

Paisley teased his collaboration with Lambert a few days before the song was released. He shared a photo from the recording studio on Instagram, but kept the mystery guest’s face hidden and let fans try to figure out who it was.
The only clue was a woman holding a whiskey glass, and for many fans, that was all the information they needed to guess it was Lambert.
The song is officially out now, and the new duet feels like it could have come straight from the ’90s. It’s a story full of heartbreak, jealousy, and complicated emotions.
It has a classic country sound and tells the tale of a married man and woman who are both involved in affairs of their own, yet they can’t stand the thought of the other doing the same thing.
“And it’s times like this they’re glad they trust each other / ‘Cause he couldn’t bear the thought / Of her in someone else’s arms / No, she couldn’t bear the thought / Of him in someone else’s arms / As they lie there in the darkness In someone else’s arms (someone else’s arms)”
It hasn’t been out for long, but fans are already sharing how much they love the song and saying they can’t get enough of its traditional country sound.
“My two favorite artists. I needed this in my life, lowkey,” a fan wrote on the song’s YouTube video.
“So good to still have some proper country coming out,” another said.
“It’s country for sure!! Love it!!” priased someone else.
