Miranda Lambert Drops New Song “Crisco”
Miranda Lambert’s new song is as smooth as butter.
Lambert released her brand new song “Crisco” on Friday, May 15, and it appears to be the start of a brand new era for the country star.
The track is her first release under her new label, MCA, and its sound is very different from anything she’s released before.
“Crisco” leans into a 70s disco-inspired style while still blending in some country flair.
She first teased the track nearly two weeks before its release with a short preview clip of the song’s chorus. Then, on her social media, she posted snippets from the accompanying music video, which got fans even more excited for the country-disco tune.
This new direction that Lambert seems to be embracing is not entirely new, though. In fact, she’s been hinting at the shift for quite a while, starting with her duet with Chris Stapleton last year.
The two released their collaboration, “A Song to Sing,” back in July 2025, and the entire project leaned heavily into a retro style.
The music video fully embraced the throwback aesthetic, with terracotta suits, roller skates, and even a disco ball.

Along with the full song release, Lambert also dropped a visualizer to go with it.
In the clip, she appears in a 70s-style kitchen complete with wood paneling and lime green countertops.
Dressed in a sparkly black-and-turquoise jumpsuit, she sings the lyrics while stirring something in a mixing bowl and dancing around the kitchen. The song’s chorus goes:
“Baby, we’ve been cookin’ with Crisco / Ain’t we mixin’ country and disco? / Stir it around, give it a spin / And it’s a rhinestone world we’re livin’ in / We’re talkin’ southern nights / We could be like islands in the stream, that’s right / Gettin’ in that rhythm with the radio / And away we go / Cookin’ with that Crisco“
The song has only been out for a few hours, but fans are already flooding the video’s comment section with praise for the track.
