In a 2012 interview with Elle, Witherspoon recalled meeting her future husband whom she called “a really good person.”

“It happened out of the blue. This really drunk guy was hitting on me, making such an idiot of himself, yelling at me. He was like, [slurring, scowling, pointing finger in her face] `You don’t know me.’ And I was like, `Yeah, I know. I don’t know you!’ Jim came over and said, `Please excuse my friend. He’s just broken up with someone.’ Jim was a really good friend, pulling him out of that situation. That’s just kind of who he is, a really good person,” Reese shared.

Reese Witherspoon was previously married to actor Ryan Phillipe for 9 years. The couple share two children, daughter Ava (23) and son Deacon (19).

The actress shares one child, a 10-year-old son named Tennessee James, with Jim Toth.

Who is Jim Toth?

According to Creative Artists Agency’s website, a leading company in film packaging and distribution, Toth is currently the co-head of the motion picture talent department at CAA.

In addition to his work with Hollywood elite, Toth is the co-chair of the cancer charity organization Stand Up to Cancer. Witherspoon shared the reason behind Toth’s involvement with the charity in a 2016 interview.

“My husband lost his father to cancer seven years ago,” Witherspoon shared with PEOPLE. “It has been his mission to raise money for SU2C and raise awareness about early detection and cancer research.”
