Riley Green Asks His Dog Carl Who “The Voice” Winner Will Be & It Backfires Big Time

Season 30 of The Voice just started, but viewers are already picking their favorites and making their predictions about who could win. That even includes Riley Green’s adorable dog, Carl.
The Voice finally returned on Monday night, September 21, with its first round of Blind Auditions. During the two-hour premiere, viewers saw several incredibly talented contestants, along with the new panel of coaches.
Sitting in the iconic red chairs for Season 30 are Kelly Clarkson, Riley Green, Queen Latifah, and Adam Levine.
Although they spent most of the night battling each other over their favorite performers, there was also a little downtime in between. During one of those breaks, Riley introduced his famous dog, Carl, to the rest of the panel.
If you’re a fan of Riley, then you probably already know Carl “The Cowboy” Corgi. At this point, you could probably argue that he’s almost as famous as his country music star owner.
Carl has a huge social media following and is always by Riley’s side. He’s appeared in music videos, has his own merchandise line, and now he’s even making his debut on The Voice.
Riley Green’s Dog, Carl, Predicts The Voice Winner
Carl wasn’t just there to show off his cuteness, though. He had a mission to complete.
Apparently, Riley had been working on a trick with him so Carl could predict who he thought would win Season 30 of The Voice.
Riley set out four dog bowls with the coaches’ names on them. He explained that he and Carl had been working on the trick all night.
Unfortunately for Riley, Carl wasn’t willing to rig the prediction in his favor.
Instead of picking Riley, Carl chose Kelly as his predicted winner. Kelly was obviously thrilled at Carl’s guess… Riley, not so much.
Later in the night, Carl made another appearance when Riley brought him out to help persuade a 13-year-old contestant to choose him as her coach. But Kelly was quick to remind everyone that Carl had already picked a side.
“I’m just gonna let you know that Carl backstage picked the winner, and Carl picked me,” she said.
It looks like Riley may have to spend some extra time teaching Carl!
The Voice is celebrating its 30th season with a three-night premiere. Night 2 will air on Tuesday, Sept. 22, and Night 3 on Wednesday, Sept. 23. After that, the show will return to its regular schedule of airing one episode every Monday.
