Red Dirt Country Artist Hayden Haddock Embraces Traditional Country Roots In New Song, “He Sings For Mary”

Hayden Haddock is quickly making a name for himself in the Red Dirt country scene. Now, the young artist is further propelling himself toward mainstream success with the release of his latest song, “He Sings for Mary.”

Haddock’s music reflects a traditional, authentic style. As a native Texan, he’s deeply influenced by other artists from his home state, including George Strait, Eric Church, Cody Johnson, Jon Pardi, and Clay Walker.

The singer-songwriter’s musical journey got its start in 2018 when a video of him singing in his college dorm was filmed without his knowledge. That video surfaced online, and his career took off from there.

Hayden Haddock Has A Proven Record Of Success

In the years since, five of Haddock’s songs have landed on the Texas radio charts. Two of those songs charted within the Top 10.

Haddock currently boasts over 8 million streams, and has songs featured on Spotify’s Texas Music Now and Texas Music Rewind, Apple Music’s Don’t Mess With Texas and Amazon Music’s Texas Forever playlists. He also has over 1.4 million views on YouTube and more than 75,000 fans across his various social media profiles.

On top of that, Haddock is a hardworking live performer. He performs over 150 tour dates per year, and has opened for artists such as Randall King, Steve Wariner, Kevin Fowler, Casey Donahew, Jon Wolfe, and Roger Creager. You can see all of his upcoming shows on his official website.

Haddock’s talents were recognized by the leading Texas award show, T3R Awards, when he received the New Male Vocalist of the Year award in 2020.

On a more personal note, Haddock was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at a young age. Today, he works with multiple organizations to help spread awareness about the disease. Additionally, Haddock serves as an advocate and speaker for JDRF.

Haddock is currently releasing new singles with hit producer/songwriter Trent Willmon, who is also Haddock’s manager. Willmon has experience working with other stars such as Cody Johnson, Kevin Fowler, and Granger Smith.

One of those new singles is the song “He Sings for Mary.” Haddock embraces his traditional country roots in the track, which is a fiddle-infused country love song.

“He Sings for Mary” was written by proven hit makers Liz Hengber (Reba McEntire), Matt Warren (Gary Allan), and Whitney Duncan (Kenny Rogers). 

The song marks Haddock’s first original release since 2022. It tells the tale of a traveling musician, who explains the reason why he devotes himself to a life out on the road. That “why,” of course, is the woman that he loves. Whenever the pressure of performing for a crowd becomes too much, he thinks of his beloved Mary and sings for her.
