Until this point, there have been no confirmed cases of a Second Lady being pregnant while serving. Usha, who is 40 years old, will be the first.

The only known First Lady to be pregnant during her husband’s term was more than 100 years ago. Frances Folsom Cleveland, wife of Grover Cleveland, gave birth to the only child ever born in the White House, Esther Cleveland, in 1893. Later, she was pregnant with and gave birth to Marion Cleveland in 1895 while still First Lady.
