New details about Charlie Kirk’s death shed light on how the conservative activist saved those nearest to him when he was shot.

Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot while speaking during a college tour stop at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. As videos of the tragedy were posted online, questions were raised by viewers who questioned many details of the case.

In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, a man can be seen removing a camera that was positioned behind the chair where Charlie Kirk sat. Conservative commentator and podcast host Candace Owens reached out to the man in question to find out what the camera captured. The man allowed Owens to view the video, and she shared details with her viewers.

In a YouTube Live video shared on Friday, September 19, Owens revealed that the camera captured the shooting, but she noticed a detail in the clip that revealed a “miracle” – the bullet didn’t leave an exit wound.

Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet explained the miracle.

Saturday evening, Kolvet said he felt the need to address the “chatter” around the lack of an exit wound in a statement posted to X.

Kolvet revealed that he spoke with the surgeon who worked on Charlie Kirk after the shooting, and he confirmed that the bullet did not pass through his body, something that the doctor said was “an absolute miracle.”

The bullet “absolutely should have gone through, which is very very normal for a high powered, high velocity round [sic]. I’ve seen wounds from this caliber many times and they always just go through everything. This would have taken a moose or two down, an elk, etc.,” the surgeon told Kolvet.

Upon mentioning that dozens of people were standing directly behind Charlie at the time of the shooting, the doctor stated that “it was an absolute miracle that someone else didn’t get killed.”

“His bone was so healthy and the density was so so impressive that he’s like the man of steel. It should have just gone through and through. It likely would have killed those standing behind him too.”

Kolvet declared, “Even in death, Charlie managed to save the lives of those around him. Remarkable. Miraculous.”

Charlie Kirk will be honored during a public memorial service on Sunday, September 21.

100,000 or more are expected to gather at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday. For the first time in modern history, both the President and Vice President will be in attendance together, and both are scheduled to speak.

Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, is also slated to speak, as are other top members of the current administration. Musical guests include country legend Lee Greenwood and worship leaders Chris Tomlin, Phil Wickham, Brandon Lake, and more.

The event will stream live at 2:00 p.m. EST on Charlie Kirk’s Rumble account.
