Taylor Swift is calling out Brad Paisley for a prank he pulled on her nearly 20 years ago, and she still isn’t completely over it.

On Monday, October 26, Swift was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Some of her closest friends and colleagues were there to celebrate the big moment, including her longtime mentor, Brad Paisley. Paisley had the honor of inducting her.

Paisley and Swift go way back to the very beginning of her career. She was just 17 years old when she opened for the “Whiskey Lullaby” singer on his Bonfires & Amplifiers Tour in 2007.

Taylor Swift Says Brad Paisley Went “Too Far” With A Tour Prank

Although Swift and Paisley have stayed close over the years, she couldn’t help but bring up some old baggage during her Hall of Fame induction speech. On stage, she told the audience about a time Paisley took a tour prank “too far.”

“We’ve been estranged since 2007,” she jokingly said, per Rolling Stone.

“He took a tour prank too far, filled my entire tour bus with live crickets, thousands of them. For months I couldn’t sleep. All night I considered buying a pet lizard to eradicate the problem.”

We can only imagine how much of a nightmare that was, especially for Swift, who was still new to life on the road at the time.

Still, the prank didn’t seem to hurt their relationship in the long run. Swift and Paisley continue to support each other.

Over the summer, Paisley and his wife, Kimberly, attended Swift’s wedding to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden.

Shortly before the wedding, Swift and Kelce donated $26 million to several charities, including The Store, the Nashville-based free grocery store founded by Paisley and his wife to help fight food insecurity. The exact amount donated to the nonprofit wasn’t disclosed, but the contribution was described as “generous.”

Swift will be back in Nashville soon for the 60th Annual CMA Awards, airing live from Bridgestone Arena on November 18.

She’s nominated for Single of the Year for “I Knew It, I Knew You,” from the Toy Story 5 soundtrack. It will be her first CMA Awards nod in four years, and her first appearance at the ceremony in a decade.
