Yearwood released “The Song Remembers When” in 1993 as the lead single from her album of the same name. The emotional tune focuses on how a song can instantly bring back memories, even after years have passed.
Many people resonated with “The Song Remembers When.” It claimed the #2 spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Additionally, it claimed the 82nd spot on the all-genre Hot 100 chart.
Yearwood is known as one of country music’s most powerful female vocalists. So Team Reba’s Caitlin Quisenberry and Crystal Nicole had a lot to live up to when they performed during the Voice battles.
But the two vocalists rose to the occasion. They delivered an enchanting performance that left all of the coaches in awe.
McEntire started off her comments by praising the singers for working hard in rehearsals. She said their efforts paid off, and made their duet “so good.”
Then, McEntire offered some high praise to the pair. She said, “I know Trisha would be thrilled to death [about the performance].”
McEntire went on to speak to each singer individually. She started with Nicole, saying, “Crystal you knocked it out of the ballpark, it was absolutely wonderful.”
Then she complimented Quisenberry, telling her, “Caitlin you gave it all. You gave the vocal, the emotion.”
McEntire had a tough time choosing between the two singers, and got teary eyed as she made her decision. But in the end, she picked Quisenberry as the winner of the battle!
