Tamworth Distilling and Mercantile, a New Hampshire-based distillery has crafted a brand-new whiskey that deer hunters and venison lovers will enjoy. It’s called The Deerslayer, and it’s 99 proof venison-flavored whiskey.

“Savory and smoky notes characterize this one-of-a-kind spirit, with a subtle spice on the palate and a lingering finish,” Art in the Age stated.

Pennsylvania’s Quaker City Merchantile owner Steven Grasse and Tamworth Distilling and Mercantile have already concocted a beaver castoreum flavored whisky and a maple syrup tapped from trees in a graveyard flavored whisky, so why not make a venison-flavored whiskey.

“The Deerslayer is a whiskey flavored with the flora and fauna of New Hampshire in autumn — in particular, venison,” Art in the Age said.

It’s a 3-year-old white wheat whiskey that has been distilled with green peppercorns, porcini mushrooms, cranberries, juniper berries, and most importantly, smoked red deer venison meat.

“After fermenting overnight to accentuate the meat’s delectable gaminess, it is then slow-smoked over a mix of seasoned branches from New Hampshire’s boreal forests,” Art in the Age added.

It’s been announced that The Deerslayer will be available for purchase at the Art in the Age liquor store in Philadelphia  or on the Art in the Age website.
