17-Year-Old Amputee Earns Zero Chair Turns On ‘The Voice’ – But Gets A Duet With Riley Green Instead

The Blind Auditions for Season 30 of The Voice officially wrapped on Tuesday, October 6. Now, coaches Kelly Clarkson, Riley Green, Queen Latifah, and Adam Levine have their full teams of talented singers.
But that doesn’t mean the contestants who didn’t get picked weren’t just as talented. There were many hopeful singers who impressed the coaches but didn’t get a chair turn.
One of those aspiring singers was 17-year-old Isabella Juliet. Isabella auditioned with Lainey Wilson’s “Things a Man Oughta Know.”
The song was originally released in 2020 as the second single from Wilson’s Redneck Hollywood EP. It was later included on her major-label debut album, Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’.
Isabella came ready to show off her country chops. She also proved just how talented she was by playing acoustic guitar while she sang, despite having only one hand from an amputation she had during childhood.

When it was time for feedback from the coaches, Riley Green kicked things off by telling Isabella:
“You got an awesome voice. It was very believable, which is a huge thing when you’re singing country music. It was really close for me. It was tough.”
Ultimately, the coaches felt like Isabella’s voice sounded a little too nervous during her audition.
“The nerves to me, I think, is what got it,” Adam Levine said. “I just think when you’re going up there, you have to remember there’s no pit of lions down there that are gonna eat us up if we don’t do well.”
“You do have a beautiful voice” he added. “And it was nice listening to you sing.”
Riley Green Asks “The Voice” Contestant Isabella Juliet To Sing With Him
Isabella may not have gotten a chair turn during her audition, but she didn’t leave the stage without a special moment with one of the coaches.
Earlier, she mentioned that she often posts singing videos on social media, and she’s covered Green’s songs before. He’s actually even seen them, and he liked the video where she sang his hit “Don’t Mind If I Do.”
So, before she left the stage, he asked her if she would sing the song with him live.
Green walked up to the stage and was handed a guitar. He started singing “Don’t Mind If I Do,” with Isabella joining in a few seconds later.
The crowd and the other coaches loved their duet. They clapped and cheered as the two sang together.
The Voice later shared a video of Isabella’s audition and her duet with Green. Fans in the comments even pointed out that it seemed like her nerves disappeared once he started singing with her. A few comments left by viewers include:
“I’m so glad Riley sang with her, she sounded much more relaxed, and especially clear on her last notes. Really think she could come back in a season or two and make it. She’s clearly already got the talent.”
“She sounded beautiful with Riley, what a lovely thing for him to do”
“She gained so much more confidence from him doing that, what a wonderful thing to do! She has a beautiful voice.”
“Her nerves definitely got the better of her! Hopefully she keeps on and comes back!”
