Krystal Keith Follows In Her Dad’s Musical Footsteps
As the daughter of one of the biggest stars in country music, Krystal Keith inherited more than just a name. Born Krystal Ladawn Covel, she modeled her stage name after his father, the great Toby Keith.
In December 2018, Krystal Keith released her first ever Christmas track. Her rendition of “O Holy Night” is a poignant reminder of the real reason for the season and beautifully showcases her vocal range.
“O Holy Night” is a centuries-old classic based on the French-language poem Minuit, chrétiens, written in 1847 by poet Placide Cappeau. The English rendition we know today was translated by American music critic and minister John Sullivan Dwight in 1855.
In the 170 years since, the beloved Christmas carol has been covered by countless artists across genres. Mariah Carey and Celine Dion’s versions have both been ceriftied platinum. It is a staple of the holiday season, often performed during Christmas shows, tree lighting ceremonies, and more.

Krystal Keith Shares Family Memories In Chiristmas Video
To accompany her release of “O Holy Night,” Krystal Keith released a festive lyric video which features small Polaroid-style photos of her extended family from the last three decades. She wrote:
“So many of my favorite memories involve Christmas. For my first Christmas release I searched through decades of holiday memories to give you a sense of what this holiday means to me and my family.”
In the video, Toby Keith can be seen decorating cookies with his grandkids, decorating the tree, and playung guitar in the living room. Other family members, including his wife Tricia, son Stelen, and more are also featured.
With just the first few notes of the song, you can tell that the song is a stellar production from the daughter of a country music legend.
