The Voice Season 30 kicked off Monday night (September 21), and first-time coach Riley Green came out swinging.
Riley Green Makes His Voice Debut
Country star Riley Green made his Voice debut and made it clear that he is in it to win it. Among the first Blind auditions was a performance from Alabama native Joe Henley. The 19-year-old revealed ahead of his performance that he was a Riley Green fan, but hoped that Kelly Clarkson would turn for him as well so he could “see new blood Riley Green and Kelly Clarkson go at it.”
And that’s exactly what happened. Henley, who admittedly has “never done a gig,” quickly caught the attention of Kelly Clarkson and Riley Green. As soon as Joe sang the opening notes of Travis Tritt’s “Anymore,” both coaches turned their chairs.

Following his performance, Riley joined Joe on stage to sing Riley’s latest single, “My Way.” Riley played guitar as the two took turns singing the familiar lyrics.
It was no surprise that when it came time to choose a coach, Joe Henley chose to join Team Riley, giving Riley Green his first team member of the season.
Kelly, however, was a good sport and congratulated Riley, predicting that the rookie coach could win this season with Joe.
“He could win you The Voice,” she said.
Riley Green Reveals His Strategy
Riley shared that his strategy to win Season 30 of The Voice is to get as many country artists as he can. “I want to get all of them,” he confessed. “Because I think there’s a great chance of a country artist winning the whole show.
