President Donald Trump Confirmed He Invited Bill Maher To The White House

On March 30, President Trump posted to Truth Social about extending the invite, based on Kid Rock’s request.

“I got a call from a very good guy, and friend of mine, Kid Rock, asking me whether or not it would be possible for me to meet, in the White House, with Bill Maher, a man who has been unjustifiably critical of anything, or anyone, TRUMP,” the post read.

He said that he wasn’t very fond of the idea, seeing as Maher has said some very negative things about the president, but he wrote that a meeting with him would be “interesting.”

“The problem is, no matter how much he likes your Favorite President, ME, he will publicly proclaim what a terrible guy I am, etc.very much like the Democrats at my recent Address to the Joint Session of Congress, where I stated, correctly, that no matter what I said or did, they wouldn’t stand, they wouldn’t applaud, they wouldn’t smile or laugh and, certainly, they wouldn’t be in any way ‘nice.'”

Trump continued, “Who knows, though, maybe I’ll be proven wrong? In any event, I’m doing a favor for a friend. I look forward to meeting with Bill Maher, Kid Rock and, I believe, even the Legendary Dana White will be present. It might be fun or, it might not, but you will be the first to know!”

The President’s Friendship With Kid Rock Goes Back Many Years

Kid Rock showed support during Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign for president. Before the Republican primaries took palce that year, Kid Rock told Rolling Stone, “I’m digging Donald Trump. My feeling: Let the business guy run it like a business. And his campaign has been entertaining as s–t.”he rocker”

Kid Rock and Donald Trump first met in person the next year, when Sarah Palin brought him and Ted Nugent to the White House after Trump won the presidency.

“We ended up becoming buddies,” Kid Rock said in 2022. “[We] spend a lot of time [together] at the golf course now. It’s really weird to get phone calls from him and stuff. It’s kind of mind-blowing.”

Since then, their friendship has grown stronger, with them attending many public events together, like UFC fights and the Daytona 500.

Kid Rock has also performed at many events for Trump, including his 2025 Inauguration.

What Has Bill Maher Said About His Upcoming Meeting With Trump?

During a recent episode of his Club Random podcast with guest Andrew Schulz, Maher gave some insight on his upcoming meeting with the president, including what he will be wearing.

“I’m not going to dress like Zelenskyy,” the comedian said, with Schulz comparing the Ukrainian president to a yoga instructor during his recent meeting with Donald Trump and JD Vance.

To prepare for the meeting, Maher’s team wrote down all the insults Trump has said about him and it added up to be five full pages.

Maher has received some criticism about agreeing to the meeting, but he doesn’t care.

“I’m not playing this game that you mean girls play, where they’re like, ‘Oh, you know what? You can’t sit at my lunch table because I’m just not talking to you,” Maher said.

The Real Time host promises to be respectful, knowing what an honor it is to be invited to the White House.

“You have to respect that, the guy did win,” Maher said of Trump. “It’s more than half the country… you can not like Trump, you can hate him, but you can’t hate everybody who voted for him… I don’t hate half the country and I don’t want to hate half the country. It’s an honor to be invited to the White House under any circumstances.”

Maher recently spoke with Chris Cuomo about his decision to take the meeting and how he thinks this conversation between people who sit on the exact opposite ends of the political spectrum can start the healing of America.

Maher added, “Now, I don’t have some sort of complex where I think I can heal America. I can’t, okay, let’s get that clear, I’m not going to be healing America. “It’s kind of a Nixon-to-China thing.”

The host ended his thoughts by saying, “If they expect me to be leaving in a MAGA hat, they’re gonna be very disappointed. But I know they don’t. It probably will accomplish very little, but you gotta try, man, you gotta try.”
