Vehicle Struck By Lightning At Dale Jr.’s Racing Headquarters

JR Motorsports headquarters co-owned by Hall of Fame NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. released security footage of lightning striking a truck in their parking lot.

JR Motorsports shared the video on Twitter captioning, “Starting the year off with a bang.” 

The video starts off showing a calm parking lot with a few trucks in it on a rainy winter’s day when a powerful bright white bolt of lightning came down and struck either a white Chevy truck or near the truck which was in the back part of the parking lot.

The lightning blast happened in Mooresville, North Carolina on Wednesday and the camera angle showed the high surge of electricity lighting up the truck, the fence, and the surrounding area.

The light absolutely illuminated the area with white light and sparks flew but as the bright light cleared the area and clouds of smoke started to lift, you could see the truck in the back of the lot now had its lights on due to the blast.

The motorsports team didn’t report any damage to the vehicle or fence but said that no one was hurt during the incident.

Mother nature can do whatever she wants and it’s just wild to get footage like this one camera.
