A 12-second gator video recently went viral after golfers shared it on social media.

A group of golfers were playing a game and hit the ball near an alligator who decided to claim it. The gator grabbed the ball with his mouth and instead of swallowing it, he rolled the ball around and opened his jaws real wide to show the ball to the players, seemingly teasing them. The players laugh and were in no way willing to battle the sharp-toothed creature.

This incident happened at the Idlewild Golf Route in Patterson, Louisiana on Monday, August 17th, 2020. The players said after they hit the golf ball, the giant alligator showed up from out of nowhere, walked right to the ball, and put it in his mouth.

He opened his mouth really big and showed the ball to the players as if he was asking them to come and take it (or asking to let him join the golf team)! The players were shocked but also amused and debated “playing it where it lies.”

They decided to let the gator keep the ball since it appeared he wasn’t going to give it back anyway. No one was harmed, the round counted as the penalty of one stroke and the game ended as a fair game.

Yet, this was not the end of the golfing gator’s story. The video posted on several media sites receiving a large number of views and funny comments.
