Actress Isabel May was born in Santa Monica, California, on November 21, 2000. She earned her first role in 2018, when she was cast as Katie Cooper in the Netflix original series Alexa & Katie. That same year, May also appeared in her first film, Age Of Summer.

May continued acting in Alexa & Katie until 2020, when the series ended after three seasons. At the same time, she had a recurring role as Veronica Duncan in nine episodes of the sitcom Young Sheldon.

May appeared in three more films (Let’s Scare Julie, Run Hide Fight, and I Want You Back) before landing her breakthrough role. She was cast as Elsa Dutton in the first Yellowstone prequel series, 1883.

The free-spirited and adventurous Elsa joined her parents, James and Margaret (played by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill), on their journey out West. Although they originally had their sights set on Oregon, the family planted their roots in Montana, laying the foundation for what would become the Yellowstone ranch.

We won’t spoil Elsa’s story here, but to put it simply, she is the reason why the Duttons settled in that spot…

May’s dynamic and emotional performance as Elsa earned widespread praise and critical acclaim. She received the Outstanding Actress in a Made for Television Movie/Limited-Series honor at the 24th Women’s Image Network Awards.

1883 only lasted for one season, but May’s performance remains memorable. So what has she been up to since the show ended?

Where Is Actress Isabel May, And What Is She Doing Now?

To some, it may seem like Isabel May disappeared after 1883, which concluded in 2022. That’s because she doesn’t maintain any public-facing social media accounts.

But May has kept fairly busy since she said “goodbye” to Elsa Dutton. In fact, she reprised her role as Elsa in Yellowstone and another prequel series, 1923, though only in a voiceover capacity, providing narration for both shows.

Later in 2022, May appeared in the movie The Moon and Back. She followed up with a single-episode voiceover role in American Masters in 2024 and an appearance in the Apple TV+ miniseries Masters of the Air that same year.

Then, in 2025, May starred in the romantic dramedy film Falling. Her next major role arrived just this year (2026). She played Tatum Evans, the daughter of Sidney Prescott (played by Neve Campbell), in Scream 7.

Additionally, May appeared in the romantic comedy Love Language, which premiered at the South by Southwest film & TV festival in March 2026.

May’s IMDb page currently lists six upcoming projects. One of those, a sports drama film titled Mr. Irrelevant: The John Tuggle Story, has been completed and is set to premiere on Christmas Day.

Two other projects (Love Love and Wild World) are listed as being in pre-production, while the remaining three (Karoshi, The Last Mrs. Parrish, and Menace) are in post-production.

Stay tuned, because Isabel May clearly has a lot of stuff in the works right now!
