It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown has been a Halloween staple since 1966, but it doesn’t air on TV anymore, so we will tell you where you can watch it.

On October 27, 1966 CBS debuted the second-ever Peanuts holiday special, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, following the massively successful A Charlie Brown Christmaswhich debuted a year prior.

Watching It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is a Halloween staple for us, right along with watching Jimmy Kimmel fans torment their kids by taking away their Halloween candy.

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Goes Off The Air

Since its debut 57 years ago, the special aired on either CBS or ABC every year until 2020 when Apple TV+ acquired the rights to all the Peanuts catalog. There was a public outcry that year after it was announced that It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown would not air on television for the first time, even though it was available to stream on Apple TV+.

In 2021, Apple TV+ teamed up with PBS and PBS Kids to air the holiday special on TV, which delights the Peanuts gang fans!

Where can you watch It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown?

In 2022, and now 2023, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown went back to streaming on and can be viewed if you have Apple TV+. For those with accounts, yay! You already have access.
