The Voice Bids Farewell To Blake Shelton After 23 Seasons

The Voice made sure to give Blake Shelton a proper send-off on Tuesday night’s (May 23) season finale. Original coaches Adam Levine and CeeLo Green returned to perform, former coaches (including Miley Cyrus, Pharrell, and Usher) filmed a video wishing Shelton well, and even George Strait sent him a congratulatory message!

To top it off, all nine of Shelton’s Voice winners returned to perform in his honor, as did some other contestants from past seasons.

Shelton’s wife, Gwen Stefani, filmed some clips for a special video about their relationship. The two of them fell in love on the set of The Voice, which they consider to be a remarkable thing. Otherwise, they don’t know if their paths would have crossed.

Who would have thought that this Orange County girl and this country guy from Oklahoma would find each other on the set of The Voice?” Stefani said in the clip.

After watching the video, Shelton said, “At least once a week, we stop and go, ‘Can you believe that happened?’ It’s been the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me in my life.”

Where Was Gwen & Why Wasn’t She There For The Finale?

As sweet as that video was, many people wondered why Stefani wasn’t present for her husband’s final episode of The Voice. After all, there were so many special guests there to honor Shelton…so where was Stefani?

ET seems to have the answer. According to the outlet, Stefani “wasn’t able to attend the live taping due to a prior commitment out of town.”

However, Stefani was able to make it back for the after-party following the show. She shared an adorable video of herself surprising Shelton at the party. He was so happy to see that she made it!

Watch that video below.

We wish Shelton well in his post-Voice journey. We will see Stefani on the show again though, because she’s coming back for Season 24!
