Wild Turkey Breaks Into House, Wrecks Room & Jumps Out 25ft High Window

Courtney Sebastian said she was upstairs at her home with her family in Ohio when a wild turkey flew into a window downstairs and broke into the home.

“Thankfully our little one was upstairs cooking dinner with me and her Daddy!” Courtney wrote on Miami Township Police Department‘s Facebook page.

Courtney called the police who showed up to help deal with the situation. The officer who showed up was wearing a body cam and caught the whole removal process on video.

“The window broke. It flew through the window,” Courtney told the officer in the video. “I feel so bad for it, it is probably hurt.”

The footage showed the bird running around in a room full of broken glass due to the window shattering everywhere as her father entered the room with a net to attempt to catch it.

The turkey instantly started to panic and tried to get out through the way that it came in but was having trouble doing that and just flapped around until Courtney’s father was able to get the bird in the net.

The officer’s chest cam showed the man trying to bring the turkey out of the room in the net but right when he got to the door the turkey freaked out and jumped out of the net.

It took off running as fast as it could and jumped back out the broken window finally making it to the nearby woods.

“The windows are 25 feet up from the ground on a hillside!” Courtney explained to a commenter on Facebook.

The officer took off to the side door of the house and shut the door just to make sure the turkey wouldn’t run around the home and try to come back inside. It was truly an eventful night for Courtney, her family, and the police department!

“This was unbelievably wild!!” Miami Township Police Department wrote on Facebook. “Police Officers get calls for everything, but this was the first time we’ve been dispatched for a wild turkey breaking into a house…and then breaking out.”

Courtney later commented on the post saying that the Miami Township Police Department officer was very friendly and stayed behind to help board up her broken window.
