But Willie needed to take just a little more time off to get back in good shape. On Tuesday (July 2), his team said he was canceling his appearance at the Outlaw Music Festival Tour stop in Mansfield, Massachusetts, that evening.

Willie’s team shared that he plans to return to the stage for his 4th of July Picnic concert in Camden, New Jersey. After that, Willie’s next show is scheduled for July 6 in Bethel, New York.

In the meantime, Willie’s son, Lukas, plans to step up and sing some of his classic songs during the Mansfield show. Lukas has been honoring his dad on the Outlaw Music Festival Tour since Willie got sick.
