A Murfreesboro, Tennessee, woman who regularly serves the homeless community in Nashville has come forward with what could be vital evidence in the disappearance of University of Missouri student Riley Strain.

Nearly a week after 22-year-old Mizzou student Riley Strain disappeared, the search for him continues as authorities are following all leads in hopes of a positive outcome.

Riley Strain was last seen just before 10 p.m. when he was kicked out of Luke Bryan‘s downtown Nashville bar, Luke’s 32 Bridge + Food. His family claims that he had been overserved and was booted from the establishment. A bar bouncer reportedly escorted him to a back door and didn’t allow his friends to go with him. The student told a friend that he was going to return to their hotel, but he never arrived.

Riley’s friends realized he was missing the following morning and alerted authorities. A massive search has been underway since, with police utilizing search resources on the streets, helicopters from the air, and boats and sonar equipment in the river. So far, dozens of leads have been called in to the Crime Stoppers hotline, and police have assured Strain’s family and the public that they are following all leads.

But, perhaps the most interesting lead, and possibly the most crucial, came through a phone call in which a woman claimed to have seen a homeless man wearing a shirt that resembled the one Riley was seen wearing the night he disappeared.

On Thursday (March 14), a woman named Sabrina called into The Pascal Show, an entertainment and variety podcast that also broadcasts on YouTube.

Sabrina told the host, Pascal Beauboeuf, that she regularly serves meals to the homeless community in Nashville.

“On Sunday, when I was feeding the homeless down by the Cumberland River, what they call Tent City, we were handing out our water and our food. There was a young man on a bicycle who had on extremely dirty pants, brown shoes, and had on a half-zip-up hoodie that was very dirty,” Sabrina explained. “And he had on a clean collared white shirt with a dark-colored pocket on it.”

She went on to share that she had seen this man before, and noticed that this time his stark white shirt stood out against his other filthy clothing.

In fact, the shirt stood out so much to Sabrina that she pointed it out to another woman that was working alongside her, saying, “He must have got a new shirt!”

When she saw the news report about Riley’s disappearance later that night, Sabrina reached out to her friend to ask if she remembered the homeless man that had been wearing a similar shirt to Riley’s and asked if she had taken a photo. The friend looked through her pictures from the day, but didn’t see the man. The women reached out to another volunteer in hopes of finding a photo. Their colleague had taken a photo, but it only captured the homeless man from the back.

Sabrina pointed out during her interview that the homeless man should be easy for authorities to find due to the fact that he has a bicycle, and she was able to give a fairly detailed description of him.

The source shared that she called the non-emergency phone number listed online. She spoke to a woman at the police department who transferred her to a someone else. That transfer went directly to voicemail and, at the time of the podcast recording, Sabrina hadn’t heard back from the department.

As of press time, the Metro Nashville Police Department hasn’t addressed Sabrina’s claims. This is a developing story.
