Zach Bryan Earns Bachelor’s Degree On Tour, Honoring His Late Mother’s Wish

Zach Bryan shared on X (Formerly Twitter) that he had completed his bachelor’s degree, keeping the promise he made to his late mother, DeAnn.

“Got my bachelors yesterday after exams in the desert and green rooms to about a hundred different venues. No arrogance attached, just a promise I made my mom a long while back. Bound to be a good week guys.”

Certainly, his college experience wasn’t like the norm, with classes held in backstage green rooms at venues across the country. Props to him for putting in the hard work. No doubt, his mama is proud!

The Start Of His Music Career

Zach Bryan‘s journey in the music industry gained momentum as he independently released his music, primarily on platforms like YouTube and SoundCloud. One of his songs, “Heading South,” eventually went viral.

His debut album, DeAnn, released on August 24, 2019, showcased his distinctive sound and garnered attention from fans and critics alike. Fun fact: It was written in two months and recorded with his friends in a Florida Airbnb.

At the end of summer 2023, the “Something in the Orange” vocalist celebrated the 4 year anniversary of DeAnn.

DeAnn was named after Bryan’s mother, who died in 2016.

“I think my mom’s been here the entire time. I remember sitting in that hospital room with [my mom] telling me to do nothing but spread love and hope into this world and be there for other people and try to do something that means something to you no matter what. I think her hand has been behind this entire thing.”
