Up-and-coming country star Zach Top has been making waves in the country music scene with his authentic sound and impressive covers. His recent cover of “Nobody In His Right Mind Would’ve Left Her” certainly impressed us and we think you’re going to love it!

“Nobody In His Right Mind Would’ve Left Her” has quite a story behind it.

Originally written and recorded by Dean Dillon in 1980, it took a few tries before becoming a chart-topper. Keith Whitley gave it a go in 1985, but it wasn’t until the King of Country himself, George Strait, released his version in 1986 that the song skyrocketed to fame.

Fast forward to May 2024, and Zach Top breathed new life into this country classic.

Fresh off the release of his sophomore album Cold Beer & Country Music, Top’s recent rendition just proves his undeniable talent.

Seated on a barstool with trees as his backdrop, Top strummed his acoustic guitar, delivering a beautiful rendition of “Nobody In His Right Mind Would’ve Left Her.” Top was clearly meant to sing this song. It’s no wonder the YouTube video has racked up over 200,000 views – and counting!

If this cover is any indication, we might just be witnessing the rise of country music’s next big star. Fans certainly believe so! Many left raving comments under the video:

“Zach Top is everything country music should be.”
“By the time this guy’s career is done, he will be considered one of the greatest of all time in the 21st-century.”
“My 90s heart is so freaking happy. I can’t get over how nostalgic your music makes me feel. Thank you for bringing country back.”
“Best new country artist out right now.”
“There’s not many songs you can say can say was sang better than the original but this is one of them. Keith and George would both be proud to hear this.”
