Jason Aldean‘s permanent tribute to his wife, Brittany, did not turn out how he had planned.

Jason and Brittany Aldean tied the knot on March 21, 2015, in an intimate beach ceremony in Mexico. Since then, the couple has welcomed two children: a son named Memphis and a daughter named Navy.

In 2019, the Georgia native paid tribute to his son, daughter, and wife, Brittany, with three small tattoos. For his wife, he chose to ink her abbreviated name “Britt” in cursive across his wrist. Unfortunately, the script made the “r” and the “i” appear blended together into a “u,” making the word look like “butt” at first glance.

Fans were quick to point out the unfortunate mishap, and the photo of the tattoo even ended up on online forums dedicated to bad tattoos.

Jason Aldean Gets Tattoo Removed

This week, Brittany shared a behind-the-scenes look at Jason’s tattoo removal process on her Instagram stories. She revealed that her husband was “about to get his tattoo removed,” and that “he is NOT a fan.”

She asked Jason how he felt during the process, to which he admitted, “It doesn’t feel awesome.” Tattoo removal is known to be painful and involves using targeted lasers to shatter the ink. The process can take 8-12 sessions to fully remove the mark.

When asked if he was excited, he flatly replied, “No, not at all, I’m not excited at all.” The video cuts to a shot of the 49-year-old wincing as the technician applies the lasers to his wrist. Afterward, he shared:

“I mean, it’s small, thank God, but it does feel like there was a blow torch stuck to me for like five seconds.”
