“American Idol” Judges Revealed For Season 25 – See Who’s Taking The Panel In 2027

American Idol has officially named the three stars who will serve as judges for Season 25.
ABC announced in late July that the singing competition will return for its 25th season. The new season is set to air sometime in 2027, although an official premiere date hasn’t been shared yet.
Auditions for the upcoming season began on Tuesday, August 25th. The first 250 singers who signed up had the chance to audition one-on-one with an Idol producer. Open calls took place from August 31 through September 28.
In May, Idol crowned Hannah Harper the winner of Season 24. She became a fan favorite throughout the 15-week competition, starting with her very first audition when she performed her original song “String Cheese.”
The track is about her experience with postpartum depression after having her third child. The story behind it connected with millions of women, and the song went viral nearly overnight.
Fans watched Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood serve as judges last season.
Bryan and Richie have both been Idol judges for nine consecutive seasons. They first joined the panel in 2018, after ABC revived the show.
Carrie, on the other hand, has been a part of two seasons so far. The “Before He Cheats” singer made her debut as a judge in March 2025, 20 years after she competed on Season 4 and won.
American Idol Season 25 Judges Revealed
Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan have been confirmed as the judges for Season 25. Ryan Seacrest will also return to host the singing competition.
The news was confirmed on Thursday night, September 24, during Luke Bryan’s one-night-only Luke Bryan & Friends concert at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
Bryan and Carrie Underwood revealed the Idol update right onstage, and Country Rebel was there in the audience to hear the announcement firsthand.
