Bo Bice Stuns Fans With Dramatically Different Look Years After “American Idol”
on • Updated

American Idol star Bo Bice has said goodbye to the look he’s been sporting for more than two decades.
You may remember the long, brown hair that Bice became known for while on the singing competition. He first rose to fame during Season 4 in 2005 and was named runner-up, placing behind winner Carrie Underwood.

But his signature hairdo is no more. The Southern rock singer recently shared an Instagram post revealing that he had cut it all off.
“Well, well, Tinkerbell… Who’s THAT guy?! Ain’t it funny what 2 years’ll do in your life,” Bice wrote in the caption of a before-and-after photo.
“Here’s a blast from my past and a glimpse into my future with a new life, new style, but the same southern soul,” he added.
It didn’t take long for people to share their thoughts in the post’s comment section. Some fans let Bice know they weren’t too happy with his new look.
“I am partial to the long hair myself,” one fan wrote.
“LOOK AWAY it’s HIDEOUS!!,” another said.
“Why does he look so old??? Yikes,” said someone else.
However, a majority of the comments were supportive. Some of the kind messages include:
“Oh cmon. We’re allowed to change our looks but he isn’t? Looks great! I bought your first CD. Do whatever you want, Bo!”
“Any way you cut it, we love ya Bo!”
“You were always my favorite ❤️”
“Let’s go! I remember watching you on American Idol when I was a little kid I was so upset when you lost”

Bice’s new look goes beyond a haircut, though. Back in April, he shared his first social media post after taking a break to work on his “body, mind & spirit.”
He revealed that he has lost 89 pounds and given up alcohol, caffeine and medications he had become addicted to over the years.
As for the hair, Bice said he cut it from “tail length to the short haired country boy look again. A lot lighter and I’m saving on shampoo & conditioner.”
Bice says he is also writing and practicing more than he has in a very long time.
“Back into a comfortable and healthy lifestyle, 50 feels better than any other decade I experienced yet,” he wrote.
Bice took a two-year hiatus from the music industry after releasing his single “Born of Heroes’ Blood” in 2024.
He’s now back to writing and recording new music, and has been teasing his new single titled “Resurrected.”
