American Idol alum Emmy Russell is now a mother of two!
Emmy is known for her time on Season 22 of Idol in 2024. The young singer moved millions to tears when she performed her original song, “Skinny,” during the auditions.
She quickly became a fan-favorite contestant. She advanced to the Top 5 before she was eliminated from the competition.
But country music fans have known Emmy for far longer. She is the granddaughter of the legendary Loretta Lynn, and she toured with her when she was young.

Baby Boy finally made his grand debut sometime in mid-September! He was born just a few days after Emmy shared she was “past due“ on September 8.
Tyler was the first to share the news of their son’s birth, sharing on Instagram on September 18 that they were still in the hospital. He wrote, “WE HAD A BABY BOY.”
Then, on October 19, Emmy shared a video on Threads with the caption reading, “Have y’all been wondering?! He’s here.. My heart is so full! Boy momma.”
The video captures Emmy singing a sweet song to her son, in which she reveals his name. His first name is “Tyler” in honor of his dad, and his middle name is Thomas.

After welcoming their daughter, Taylor, in 2025, Emmy Russell and Tyler Ward released a beautiful song to celebrate her birth. It’s titled “London Bridges.”
One of the couple’s songwriter friends surprised them with the finished song after they shared that they were expecting.
“And so they wrote this song, surprising me and Emmy, they came out like, ‘Hey, we think you’ll like this.’ And they played it, and I couldn’t get enough. I teared up so much, to where it felt like our song,” Tyler told PEOPLE.
Emmy and Tyler recorded the track in tribute to baby Taylor, and released it when she was only one month old. You can listen to the studio recording below.
