Ashley McBryde Returns To The CMA Awards With Another Unforgettable Performance

Ashley McBryde has a rich history with the CMA Awards. The singer has performed at every CMA Award show since she won New Artist of the Year in 2019. Let’s venture down memory lane and end our journey with her special 2024 performance.

In 2020, the year of COVID-19, McBryde performed her song “One Night Standards,” a release from that year, but there was no audience present due to fears surrounding the global virus.

In 2021, McBryde was joined on stage by Carly Pearce for a performance of “Never Wanted to Be That Girl.” The song was co-written by McBryde, Pearce, and Shane McAnally and is featured on Pearce’s album 29: Written in Stone. Their duet was truly moving—watch it for yourself below.

McBryde performed in 2022 alongside Brandy Clark, Caylee Hammack, and Pillbox Patti. The group created beautiful harmonies when they covered “When Will I Be Loved,” originally sung by Linda Ronstadt.

In 2022, McBryde had an impressive year, winning the Musical Event of the Year award for her song “Never Wanted to Be That Girl.”

McBryde closed out 2023 with a heartfelt solo performance. She delivered a stunning rendition of her song “Light On In The Kitchen ” with just her and her guitar.”

Ashley McBryde’s 2024 CMA Award Performance

A day before the 2024 CMA Awards, it was announced via a CMA Instagram post that Ashley McBryde would perform a “touching tribute to Kris Kristofferson.”

Kristofferson passed on September 28th of this year (2024) and will be honored this year by McBryde and the CMA Awards.

In her post, McBryde mentioned feeling nervous about performing because Kris Kristofferson is a music and film icon. She reminisced about how her father taught her Kristofferson’s songs on the guitar when she was a young girl.

McBryde delivered a heartfelt rendition of Kris Kristofferson’s classic, “Help Me Make It Through the Night.” Watch her stunning performance below.
