Blake Shelton Plays Dress Up At Kids’ Choice Awards

Blake Shelton Plays Dress Up At Kids’ Choice Awards | Country Music Videos

Country super star Blake Shelton took the Nickelodeon stage last night (March 12) to host the 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards. While there were some reservations from concerned parents about Blake keeping things family-friendly, the “Sangria” singer kept it clean and delivered one of the most entertaining awards show hosting gigs we’ve seen in a long time.

The Kids’ Choice Awards kicked off with a Star Wars themed opening featuring special appearances from two of Shelton’s fellow The Voice coaches, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams, as well as Selena Gomez and Nick Jonas. In the opening monologue, Shelton goes head-to-head against an army of Storm Troopers in an effort to save the Kids’ Choice Awards. Shelton prevails and is launched onto the stage in rocket-powered red chair identical to the seat he occupies every week on The Voice

Throughout the evening, kids around the globe were given the opportunity to control what would be seen on the show by voting live. During one of the night’s funniest moments, the audience voted for Blake to dress up like a unicorn. And he did. Cowboy boots and all, Shelton took the stage dressed up as a white unicorn. Watch the video by clicking here.

Shelton was also up for the Favorite Male Singer award, but lost out to Justin Beiber. Not to be outdone, Shelton was on the receiving end of a mega sliming unlike anything we’ve seen before on the Kids’ Choice Awards. Shelton’s girlfriend Gwen Stefani shared a video of the moment on social media.
