The community of West Brookfield, Massachusetts, is grieving the loss of three of its teens who died in early November in a car accident. 14-year-old Jaclyn Desrosiers, 15-year-old Christian Congelos and the driver, 16-year-old Lena Noonan, passed away after the car they were traveling in hit a tree and rolled.

Country star Blake Shelton knows all too well the pain of losing someone in such an accident. In 1990, when Shelton was only 14, his 24-year old brother Richie was killed in a car accident in his home state of Oklahoma.

Blake heard about the recent crash in Massachusetts and took time to record a heartfelt message for the loved ones of those lost.

“Hey guys, this is Blake Shelton here. I’m out in the middle of the woods in Oklahoma. I was just made aware of the car accident and, man, it breaks my heart. I completely know how it feels,” the Voice coach said.

“I lost my brother in a car accident and I can understand how you guys feel, it’s the worst possible feeling. It’s confusion, it’s anger, it’s just an overall brokenness. It’s just gonna take a lot of time to heal and if you can find comfort in anything, it’s just knowing that they’re all in a better place now and God has a plan.”

Blake concluded by saying, “I still miss my brother every day, and you’re gonna miss those guys every day. I just wanted to say I’m thinking of you and it gets easier, it just takes a long time. But just always honor their memory and never forget about them. God bless you guys. I’m praying for you.”
