Bored with your typical morning pick-me-up? Coca-Cola just might have the perfect drink for you! America’s favorite soft drink company launched the perfect marriage of your morning routine and afternoon jolt in the form of coffee-flavored Coca-Cola.
“Coca-Cola Plus Coffee” is a carbonated beverage that launched earlier this year in Japan and is set to make its debut in Australia in the near future as a limited-edition drink. However, the Japanese rendition of the drink was not made available in sugar-free.
The reasoning behind the coffee-flavored beverage?
“Australians have a love-affair with coffee so we thought why not give them more of what they want,” Coca-Cola Australia spokeswoman Lisa Winn told the UK’s Independent. “We think it will be a great-tasting afternoon pick-me-up. Like a delicious antidote to the 3 p.m. slump.”
For those of us not making a trip to Australia or Japan anytime in the near future, a statement from Coca-Cola describes the drink as a combination of “the traditional taste” of the original with “a dash of real coffee from Brazil” and “subtle caramel undertones.”
The caffeine content of the drink lands between their typical 9 mg per can and the 43 mg found in a cappuccino, Coca-Cola Plus Coffee clocking in at 14 mg of caffeine per 100ml. Americans on average consume 300 mg of caffeine per day, leaving more than enough room for the drink to make its debut in the United States.
Whether or not the drink will be met with rave reviews, Coca-Cola Plus Coffee surely has social media in a frenzy over the concept.

I just tried the new No Sugar Coke with Coffee – not so sure about it TBH. I can hear my own heartbeat though – that’s normal, right?
