The world is mourning the loss of one of its most beloved entertainers. David Cassidy, best known for his role on the 1970’s television show The Partridge Family, passed away Tuesday (November 21) at the age of 67.

According to his rep, Cassidy passed away in a Florida hospital after suffering from multiple organ failure.

“On behalf of the entire Cassidy family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother, David Cassidy,” his rep shared in a statement. “David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.”

On Friday, Cassidy’s daughter Katie took to Twitter to thank fans for their outpouring of support and shared her dad’s heartbreaking final words.

“Words can’t express the solace our family’s received from all the love & support during this trying time,” Katie wrote. “My father’s last words were ‘So much wasted time.’ This will be a daily reminder for me to share my gratitude with those I love as to never waste another minute… Thank you.”

The star is survived by step-mother Shirley Jones, half-brothers Shaun, Patrick and Ryan; daughter Katie Cassidy and son, Beau Cassidy, from his former wife, Sue Shifrin.
