Miranda Lambert interrupted herself mid-song after spotting a woman in the audience who had collapsed to the floor. A concert-goer whom is suspected to have had a bit too much to drink became unable to stand at the country singer’s concert Feb.23.
“Is anybody coming to help this woman?” asked Lambert during a performance of her latest single “We Should Be Friends.” “We’ve got a bunch of dudes [here.] Just pick her up and move her…Come on! She needs some air people.”
After it seemed as if no one was going to help the distressed fan, Lambert launched into action. The country singer approached the edge of the stage to communicate more clearly with the people in the front row near the woman. Once she received word that the fan was recovering, a relieved Lambert announced to the rest of the concert-goers, “Well, she’s got a cool story to tell…She partied her ass off tonight.”
Once the mayhem settled, Lambert relaunched her performance of “We Should Be Friends,” pointing out the irony of the episode happening during that particular song Lambert wrote about “being a hot mess.”
