Hank 3 Delivers Rockin’ Cover Of His Father Hank Jr’s ‘Family Tradition’

Talent runs deep in the Williams family! Hank 3, son of Hank Williams Jr. and grandson to Hank Williams, delivered an explosive rendition of his father’s hit song “Family Tradition.”
Hank 3 took the stage at The Orange Peel in Asheville, North Carolina back in August of 2005 for a the high-octane performance of one of his father’s most famous songs. The singer stayed true to his father’s original and took a traditional country approach to his delivery of the song.
The 44-year-old singer currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee and aims to produce real country music. Many fans of Hank Williams Sr. have been taken back by his striking resemblance to his grandfather, even Minnie Pearl (country comedian and close friend to the late Hank Williams) reportedly told Hank 3 upon meeting him, “Lord, honey, you’re a ghost.”
“Family Tradition” was written and recorded by Hank Williams Jr. in 1978 and was the fourth single and title track to his 1978 album. The song peaked at No.4 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and has sold over 900,000 copies.
