Little Texas Remembers First Loves And Broken Hearts With ‘What Might Have Been’

Country music in the ’90s was dominated by vocal groups and bands. Sawyer Brown, The Tractors, Confederate Railroad, Diamond Rio and Shenandoah were just a few of the groups taking their turns at the top of the country charts during final decade of the 20th century.

But, only one group was able to cross genre lines to produce one of the most popular songs of all time. Country music fans were first introduced to Little Texas in 1991 when their first single, “Some Guys Have All The Love,” hit radio. In total, five songs were released from their debut album, First Time For Everything. The success gained Little Texas a faithful following and served as a stepping stone to what would become their most successful album two years later.

In 1993, Little Texas released Big Time. The album would go on to be certified platinum twice thanks to crossover hit “What Might Have Been.” The timeless song topped out at #2 on the Hot Country Charts, but remains one of the group’s most popular songs. Radio stations continue the play the tune 25 years later.

It’s no wonder that “What Might Have Been” remains a radio mainstay as it speaks to everyone who has ever wondered how their life would have turned out had they made different decisions in their youth.

Flashback with us to 1993 with a live performance from Little Texas of “What Might Have Been.”
