Your Favorite Singers Fire Back At Rude Country Stereotypes

It seems that every genre of music has its own set of stereotypes attached to it. Over the years, country music and country artists have become known for a wealth of stereotypes, but are any of them actually true?

Despite popular belief, most stereotypes about country artists are pure misconceptions. Tired of the bad rap they’ve been getting, some of today’s biggest stars teamed up to dismiss the stereotypes forever.

One artist would name the stereotype, while another would then do their best to disprove it. For example, Keith Urban opened up the clip by naming an extremely common country stereotype.

We only wear flannel..only wear flannel?” Urban said, appearing shocked. After all, he was wearing a jean jacket, automatically proving the stereotype wrong.

Scotty McCreery helped Urban out by showing off his sleek leather jacket. Cleary, not a flannel.

One of the most chuckle-worthy moments in the clip came courtesy of Big & Rich. Purposefully crossing his eyes, John Rich read off his assigned stereotype.

Everybody thinks we’re all cross-eyed,” he said.

That’s when Big Kenny pulled down his glasses to reveal his own set of purposefully crossed eyes. Those who know Big & Rich will get the joke, but non-country fans may be confused and think the stereotype is actually true!

Maddie & Tae were also quick to dismiss the rumor that everyone is angry with Taylor Swift following her move from country to pop. Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town helped slam this rumor to the ground when she started singing a snippet of the group’s chart-topping hit “Better Man,” which was written by Swift.

The clip is full of other hilarious moments and even an awkward attempt at line dancing. Who knew that country artists were such comedians?
