Carrie Underwood Delivers Moving Performance With Her Local Church Choir

Carrie Underwood took us to church…literally.
On Sunday, August 9, Country superstar Carrie Underwood made a surprise appearance at her church to sing a few worship songs. She and her family have been long-time attendees of Rolling Hills Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee, and a few times a year, Underwood takes the stage to help lead worship.
Carrie Has Always Been Vocal About Her Faith
Carrie Underwood was raised in the church in Checotah, Oklahoma, and it served as the place where she first sang in public.
Although it was never easy, Underwood has always been vocal about her faith and never shied away from singing Christian music.

After years of singing country music, Underwood finally released a full-length gospel album in 2021 titled My Savior, which included classic songs like
“Great Is Thy Faithfulness” (featuring the legendary CeCe Winans), “How Great Thou Art,” “Softly And Tenderly,” and “Amazing Grace.”
When she joined American Idol as a judge in 2025, she encouraged the show to feature a Gospel Night when the broadcast fell on Easter Sunday. The special was a huge success, earning praise from fellow judge Luke Bryan, who gave her full credit for the idea.
Carrie Has Taken Her Talents To Church
Underwood has occasionally performed at her church, Rolling Hills Community Church, on Easter and Christmas and a few other times.
Over the weekend, she performed at her church again, much to the delight of the congregation…and her fans!
She performed two songs: “What A Beautiful Name” and “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.”

In her version of “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” she shares lead vocals with CeCe Winans, but in the version she sang on Sunday (August 9), another singer stepped up and nearly stole Carrie’s spotlight!
According to some TikTok comments, her name is Jennifer Akers and serves as the Worship Pastor at Rolling Hills Community Church.
