Carrie Underwood does it all. She’s a mom, has received several Grammy Awards and has crossed musical barriers -taking the music industry by storm. Now, she flipped the switch again at the Grand Ole Opry and did it all while showing off her growing baby bump!

The Big Event

The Grand Ole Opry has a very special tradition in October. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, they flip an oversized switch that turns the lights of the stage into a beautiful hue of pink. This year, they chose the beautiful, strong, and talented Carrie Underwood to literally “flip the switch.”

Stars and Survivors

Underwood wasn’t the only star to grace the stage. She was joined by celebrities Rita Wilson, Karen Mills, and Anita Cochran. Born fighters, these folks are working to defy all odds and prove that survival is possible. By kicking off the night by cutting a giant pink ribbon, they showed that they will continue to battle cancer for people all around the world.

Anita Cochran then went on to perform her song “Fight Like A Girl” which she was inspired to write during her own experience with cancer. Cochran has fought the good battle and addressed the audience of survivors and allies with a heartfelt speech.

Before giving her performance, Cochran told the crowd, “We have fighters and survivors in this audience. But every day we all fight a battle and we all have to keep fighting every day to fight whatever battle that is to get through this wonderful thing called life that we get to live. And tonight standing on this circle, a year ago I thought there might be a chance I’d never get to play the Opry because I was diagnosed with triple positive cancer. Tonight I’m being told that I’m cancer-free,”

Carrie gave her own performance, singing her new song “Love Wins.” The song spans a wide array of situations as it talks about the power behind kindness and love. With lyrics like, “I believe you and me are sisters and brothers/ And I, I believe we’re made to be here for each other” it was the perfect fit for the occasion.

The entire night has been news-worthy as the ladies came together for the fight against cancer. Even Underwood’s growing belly has been one of the talked about highlights of the evening. Looking gorgeous as ever, Underwood’s light-pink chiffon dress flowed perfectly over her big bump!
