Stars Participating In The Dolly Parton Tribute Concert Name Their Favorite Dolly Songs
A little later, the CMA posted a video of some of the above-mentioned performers naming their favorite Dolly Parton songs. Kelsea Ballerini summed it up perfectly when she called that “almost an impossible question.”
Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town agreed, saying, “It’s like picking a favorite kid.”
But after thinking about it for a few moments, the stars all managed to name a song. Béla Fleck said he loves “Say Goodnight,” and that he cries every time he hears it.
Little Big Town’s Philip Sweet said he’s a big fan of “Here You Come Again,” while Ricky Skaggs named “Coat of Many Colors” as his favorite. Ashley McBryde, meanwhile, said the most “magical” Dolly song to her is “These Old Bones.”
Sierra Hull said her favorite Dolly song is “Smoky Mountain Memories.” Both Kelsea Ballerini and Brad Paisley declared that “My Tennessee Mountain Home” is their pick.
“There’s something about the way she could spin a melody and turn the most simple, nostalgic phrase into something that just rings in your head for the rest of your life.” Brad said.
