Darius Rucker was performing at Riverfront Revival when he tripped and fell on stage.

The Darius Rucker-fronted rock band Hootie and the Blowfish headlined Charleston, South Carolina’s annual Riverfront Revival festival on Saturday (Oct 12). Other acts included Jamey Johnson, Collective Soul, The Revivalists, Paul Cauthen, and more.

During the band’s 22-song headlining set, they performed their hits as a band like “Hold My Hand,” “I Only Wanna Be With You,” and “Let Her Cry,” and mixed in a few of Rucker’s hits as a solo country artist including “Wagon Wheel” and “Alright.”

While singing his 2009 hit song “Alright,” Rucker walked all over the stage interacting with fans.

During the first verse, Rucker tripped on a monitor on the stage and fell hard! He was standing up when he sang the lyric, “Don’t need no concert in the city,” but he went down for the line, “I got a stereo and the best of Patsy Cline.”

The way he said, “I got a stereo,” was hilarious, and knowing that he is alright makes it okay to laugh! Someone came out to help him, and he told the crowd, “I’m old as f***!” before going right back to singing.

Darius is 58 years old, so he isn’t a spring chicken, but he’s not that old! Either way, the fall probably hurt his pride and likely his back, too!

Despite the fall, Rucker carried on the rest of the performance as though nothing happened!

Later in the show, he said, “”We’ve been doing this all summer. hadn’t fell once. But I busted my a– in my hometown.”

He addressed the fall on social media on Tuesday (Oct. 15) by sharing a fan video of the incident along with the caption, “Kept singing though,” with three laughing crying emojis.
