Dolly Parton Cancels Vegas Shows Citing Health Concerns
on May 06, 2026

Dolly Parton Has Put An Indefinite Halt On Performing
Country legend Dolly Parton will not be taking the stage in Las Vegas this year like previously planned.
The 80-year-old has shared “good and bad news” in a recent health update. Her six-show run at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace was originally scheduled for December 2025. However, unforeseen health complications forced her to reschedule until September 2026.
Now, Parton has confirmed that the shows have been canceled. In a video posted online, she admitted that she is not quite performance-ready. She shared:
“The good news is, I’m responding really well to meds and treatments, and I’m improving every day. The bad news is, it’s gonna take me a little while before I’m up to stage-performance level because some of the meds and treatments make me a little bit swimmy-headed.”

She joked that she should not be dizzy while carrying “banjos, guitars, and such” while wearing her signature sky-high heels and heavy rhinestone outfits. Parton shared a heartfelt apology to those who had purchased tickets to the shows and encouraged them to get out to Vegas and have a “big time” anyway.
According to the ticketing website, refunds will automatically be issued to the purchaser’s original form of payment.

Additional Details Shared In New Health Update
While Dolly Parton has not shared the specifics of her health issues, she has been open about challenges with kidney stones. In the new update, she joked:
“I’ve told you before that I’ve always had problems with my kidney stones. Lord, they dig more stones out of me a year than the rock quarry in Rockwood, Tennessee.”
She added on a more serious note:
“But seriously, my immune system and my digestive system got all out of whack over the past couple, or three years, and they’re working real hard on rebuilding and strengthening those. And hopefully, I’ll be up to snuff again soon.”

Dolly Parton Says Her Issues Are “Treatable”
While not performing, Parton continues to work on her museum and hotel, which is set to open in Downtown Nashville later this year. Additionally, she continues to write, record, and work on her Broadway musical.
The “Jolene” singer assured fans that she is receiving proper care, and her doctors believe that her conditions are treatable. She concluded:
“It’s serious business when you’re talking about internal medicine. So I have great doctors, and I’m doing really well, and they assure me that everything I have is treatable. So I’m going with that. I just want you to know that I thank you for standing by me and I will always love you.”
