“Dukes Of Hazzard” Star John Schneider Discovers New Love One Year After Wife’s Passing

John Schneider, best known for his iconic role as Bo Duke in the hit TV series “Dukes of Hazzard,” recently shared more about his personal love life.

Schneider, 64, revealed in an interview on Grace Begins, The Podcast on Wednesday, May 29, that he is in a new relationship, just one year after the death of his wife, Alicia Allain.

He shared how his faith had helped him through the challenging period following his wife’s passing and that his new relationship has been a “miracle.” Schneider also emphasized that he “can honestly say I didn’t want it” before his new partner entered his life.

“God sent a widower to a widow and a widow to a widower who [gets] it, who understands. Because I tell you what, I was ready to give it up, all of it — everything. Then, just when I thought the very notion of dating or holding another hand was repulsive, I met this one, that crazy Dame over there,” he shared, gesturing towards his new partner off-camera.

The actor described his new relationship as a lifeline, admitting that he was ready to give up on “everything” before meeting her.

“I was done. And if that hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have been here, there’s not a chance in the world,” he revealed, the emotion evident in his voice. “Now I know there’s a lot more to do because God’s up to something that I’m part of. I always knew that.”

Schneider’s late wife, Alicia Allain, battled breast cancer for several years before her passing.

The couple decided to marry “in the eyes of God” in July, after Allain’s diagnosis in May 2019, as Schneider’s divorce with his ex-wife Elvira “Elly” Castle was not yet finalized.

Despite Allain’s cancer going into remission by 2020, a race-car crash in December 2021 revealed that her cancer had returned and spread to the bone. She passed away in February 2023.

During an interview with PEOPLE in August 2023, Schneider openly expressed his struggles, stating that he missed “every damn thing” about Alicia “every day.”
