NBCU/iHeartRadio Music Awards
The Grammy Awards, music’s biggest night happened Sunday (February 10) in Los Angeles, and almost everyone who’s anyone in the music industry was there. But, there were several noticeable absences, including 3-time Grammy Award winner Kelly Clarkson who was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album for her album Meaning of Life. But, she had a good reason for missing the event.
Prior to the kick off of the live Grammy event, Clarkson took to Twitter to let her fans know why she wasn’t in attendance. “I’m out touring so couldn’t make #Grammys2019 tonight BUT couldn’t b more appreciative 4 the nomination & couldn’t be more excited 4 everyone there!” she wrote. Clarkson added a special message for her fellow artists, saying, “2 all the artists nominated & not nominated, win or lose, feel blessed that u get to do what u do 4 a living!”
Kelly followed up that tweet with well wishes for her fellow Voice coach Alicia Keys who took on hosting duties for the night.
Kelly is currently in the midst of her 2019 Meaning of Life Tour that kicked off January 24 and will take her to 28 cities across the U.S. Country star Kelsea Ballerini and Clarkson’s ‘Voice’ protege and season 14 winner Brynn Cartelli are joining her as opening acts on the tour.
