At Ground Zero, Four Presidents Share A Silent 9/11 Tribute

Today, September 11, 2026, the nation pauses to remember the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
On the 25th anniversary, ceremonies are taking place at Ground Zero in New York, the Pentagon, and the Flight 93 National Memorial in Pennsylvania.
At Ground Zero, family members gathered to read the names of those who were killed, while moments of silence marked the times when the hijacked planes struck and the towers fell.
The ceremony is about more than remembering a single day in history. It is about remembering the lives behind the names. The parents, children, spouses, friends, coworkers, firefighters, police officers and countless others whose lives were forever changed.
This year’s observances also recognize those who became sick or died in the years following 9/11 from illnesses connected to the attacks and their aftermath.
Four Presidents Came Together To Honor The Victims At Ground Zero
While many people were in attendance at each ceremony, four past presidents and their wives, attended the ceremony in New York City at Ground Zero.
President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden, President Obama and Michelle Obama, President George W. Bush and Laura Bush, and President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton all paid their respects at Ground Zero.
In a powerful moment, they were all shown in a moment of silence. Vice President JD Vance, former NYC Mayor Rudy Guilianni, former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and current Mayor of New York Zohran Mamdani were also seen sitting near each other.
Twenty-five years later, the words “Never Forget” continue to carry enormous meaning. For those who lived through 9/11, the memories remain vivid; for younger generations who know the tragedy only through history, these ceremonies help ensure the stories of those lost—and the courage of those who responded—are never forgotten. Today is a day to remember, to reflect, and to honor the lives that shaped a moment America will carry with it forever.
