Gwen Stefani Talks About Her Oldest Son’s Musical Talent After He Made His Performance Debut At Blake Shelton’s Ole Red Restaurant

In August, Gwen Stefani joined her husband Blake Shelton for a performance at his Ole Red bar and restaurant in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Before the show, Blake advertised the appearance of a “debut artist” who would deliver their first public performance.

That “debut artist” turned out to be Gwen’s eldest son, Kingston Rossdale. 17-year-old Kingston took to the Ole Red stage to perform, and everyone loved it!

Love you guys, thank you for being here! Thank you, it means everything to me, really. I hope you guys had a great night, enjoy yourselves!” Kingston said when he was done.

His stepdad gave him a congratulatory hug before he left the stage.

What Does Gwen Think Of Kingston Becoming A Singer?

Gwen recently did a cover story for PEOPLE, and opened up about her life in Oklahoma with Blake and her boys. She also spoke about Kingston’s musical debut, and shared her feelings about it:

“King has been writing a bunch of amazing songs. When it’s your kid, it’s like, you love everything, but this is next level to me. These are really good songs,” she said. “So Blake said, ‘Hey, we got to go live now.’ It’s so different than writing a song — being able to sing live is a whole ‘nother thing.”

Gwen was understandably emotional when Kingston performed at Ole Red:

I was bawling. It’s crazy when you have children, and they learn what their gift is. You see their talent, and you’re like, ‘Wow.’ I’m so happy for him that he has that outlet,” she said.

Gwen said it’s extra special for her to share these meaningful moments in her kids’ lives with Blake:

What makes me feel the most joy is the successes as a parent, and also as a parent — meaning with Blake — because we’re doing this together,” she said. “It’s these little milestones where you look back and you go, ‘Wow, look at where we’re at now.’ It’s the greatest thing ever.”

We look forward to more performances from Kingston in the future! Hear Gwen talk more about her family and relationship with Blake in the video below.
